Illuminated retail signs get

This week we completed the retail signs for trail blazing e-tailer The start-up has been well received by online customers, as they create a buzz with their direct to market offer and passion for giving customers products directly from the manufacture, therefore cutting out the pesky ‘middle-man’.

Their signs were installed at their new head offices in Notting Hill, London by our expert engineers this week. The signage build was built-up letters from yellow acrylic with black faces which was mounted onto folded aluminium sign tray with fluorescent illumination. The entire sign was then suspended from the ceiling.

The top notch signs match the culture at the classy company and we hope that the new signs will continue to help prosper in a market place which they continue to shake up. Win Kwock, Art Director at Made commented ”We’re absolutely thrilled with our new signs, thank you”. was founded in 2010 by Chinese-French entrepreneur Ning Lee, who has brought his knowledge of Designer furniture and international logistics to serve a new market in the UK.

Mr Lee noted in an interview with that “selling high-end furniture for discounted prices makes sense.” and also in the same article that “The retail industry is at a tipping point. The internet has started to democratise every industry.” Other retailers would do well to take note of Made’s strategy and the way retail is changing in the UK and how to take advantage of the changes.

To discuss any retail signage or other project you may have then please get in contact with us, we’d be pleased to help.

Graffiti Design is moving on up

Graffiti Design has just celebrated their 6 month anniversary of moving into their new head office in Heathfield, East Sussex. The new offices in the heart of the Sussex countryside give the expanding company more space to carry on creating award winning signs and also a rather nice view.

The premises which were formally a garden centre have been extensively re-generated over the past 6 months to provide 12,000 square feet of space, doubling the size of the previous location in Uckfield. The new location also includes the best signage showroom in the country, which displays a large range of signage including retail signs, LED illuminated signs, neon signs and custom signs. Our door is always open should anyone like to see what is available.

The move also comes with room to grow for Graffiti, as there is room for expansion on the premises should this be needed. The new workshop space includes 2 large bed routers for cutting the faces of our signs, a large paint shop for painting our signs and a large graphics studio for assembly of our signs. There is also an in-house graphics studio equipped with the latest design technology to help our customers re-brand their signs or help new businesses design their brand from scratch.

What all this means is that the company is now able to create more award winning signs for our clients and help local and national business to create fantastic retail spaces which stand out from the crowd.

The future seems bright for Graffiti as we look to go for our 3rd successive year of growth and continue to succeed in a difficult market place.

Graffiti Design Wins National Award

Graffiti Design scooped the award for ‘Best Multiple Sign Project’ at the UK Sign & Digital Awards 2012 last week. The award was given for the completion of the Brighton & Hove Albion FC Community Stadium. The stadium project which was years in the making was the single largest project Graffiti has ever undertaken and the 6-month project was delivered on time and to budget.

Graffiti also narrowly missed out on the top prize at the awards, ‘Sign Company of the Year’ was awarded to Signbox for the second year in a row, but it was a sign of Graffiti’s progress in the last few years that they were recognised as the 2nd best sign company in the UK in 2011/12.

In 2011 Graffiti saw a 50% year-on-year increase in sales despite the on-going slump in the economy. The increase in business followed a strong 2010 and allowed Graffiti to move to a new state-of-the-art Head Office in Heathfield, East Sussex.  The offices are based at the site of the former Broad Oak garden centre which had been vacant for a number of years before Graffiti moved in, in September 2011.

This move has doubled the company’s production capacity by giving larger premises (14k sq feet) to meet the demand of new and existing customers. The move also allows the company to expand further in the coming years and sees the opening of a very impressive showroom, which showcases the very latest products the sign industry has to offer.

Graffiti’s Managing Director Neil Keeley said “We’ve had an amazing couple of years, and the Community stadium project and the award which recognises all the hard work has been the icing on the cake – and we like to think has helped the seagulls get to the verge of the Premiership.”

On the move to the new offices Neil commented “The new offices allow us to carry on delivering projects to more customers, we had out-grown our old offices in Uckfield and hope that our move will also be good for the local community as we have already taken on new staff and will look to offer more jobs to the local community as we expand”.
