Museum Interpretation Contract Won

What a great way to start 2013! We have just been awarded the museum interpretation contract for Brighton and Hove Albion FC’s new museum at the American Express Community Stadium. The contract includes museum interpretation, signage, way-finding, graphics and branding.

Plans for the museum have been floating about ever since the stadium was built, and was originally intended to be in place for the opening of the Amex back in the summer of 2011. However, the club has been a bit busy recently with all the expansions and new training ground plans, so it was put on the back burner.

However I can now happily say that works are due to start and the new museum should be operational by the end of May 2013, allowing fans to enjoy the famous high points of the clubs 112 year history.

We were approached by BHAFC regarding the museum, and then introduced PLB to the football club. PLB is a heritage design consultancy, who we worked with extremely closely with on the Basing House Ruins Project where we provided much museum interpretation. The club were delighted with the proposals set out by PLB, and there after we successfully tendered for the works and manufacture is planned for February/March. We have good knowledge and experience now within the museum interpretation field, after projects such as Lewes Castle, Havering Museum and Basing House Ruins.

Corporate Signage Won By Graffiti Design

Graffiti Design is pleased to announce that the new rebrand of the Corporate Signage for Edwards Vacuum’s Global Technology Centre in Burgess Hill, Sussex will be completed by Graffiti Design.

After being approached by the global corporate giant, Graffiti entered into a tendering process with 3 other signage manufacturers. Damien Pestell, Sales and Marketing Director took the opportunity to really show what Graffiti Design as a company can offer to corporate clients, and created a complete signage solutions package for Edwards.

After a presentation of the tender at the site, and a tour around the award winning American Express Community Stadium, Edwards had a chance to see the proposed signage in reality.

The work consists of the complete rebrand of the existing site, to the new Global Technology Centre. The signage includes large monoliths signs, illuminated built-up letters and way-finding signs.

Edwards Vacuum is a world leader in development and manufacture of dry pumps and vacuums. Its global presence is exactly what Graffiti Design looks for in clients.

Graffiti will now go about finalising all the artwork and designs which assisted in the awarding of the contract, and manufacture will begin in due course.

New Fat Face Store, New Fat Face Signage

Fat Face, one of Graffiti Design’s blue chip clients, has agreed on a new specification of signage for its new store in Waterloo Station.

Fat Face came to Graffiti to provide signage solutions for one its flagship stores and to really stand out from the crowd.

After deliberations over concepts and designs, samples were made and approved, and the new signage went into manufacture at Graffiti’s HQ in East Sussex. The new spec. consists of built-up letters with aluminium returns and opal acrylic faces. LEDs were also installed to provide face illumination. This a step in a new direction for Fat Face, as the normal signage is milled from timber or model board and then hand painted by Graffiti Design.

The store opened its doors on the 17th July 2012 following the recent works at the station. Waterloo has gone under major redevelopments for the opening of the Olympic Games and has had a first floor balcony added to allow extra retail units. Fat Face has taken the opportunity to expand into the busiest train station in the UK and it will be one of a few selected flagship sites in the UK.

Graffiti Design is looking forward to working with Fat Face on new projects which are on the horizon, and other clients which want to develop and improve their current branding.

LIW 2012 Signage from Graffiti Design

I am pleased to announce that it has been confirmed that Graffiti Design will be producing signage for the Leisure Industry Week 2012 and we will be exhibiting there in September.

After negotiations with the event organisers, we have managed to contra a signage deal with the inclusion of a stand for exhibiting the new signage and the company’s best bits over the past few years.

LIW 2012 will be taking place at the NEC arena Birmingham from the 18th to the 20th of September. It is an ideal platform for us at Graffiti Design to showcase our most recent work and successes throughout our leisure facility client base.

The Brighton & Hove Community Stadium will be one of the main attractions at our stand, and other projects including Carluccio’s restaurant chain, Southern Fried Chicken fast food chain and Fitness First Gyms will all be presented to a wide audience of national leisure facility bosses and decision makers.

Graffiti Design will also be sponsoring the signage and branding it accordingly, giving us a great opportunity to advertise to all the attendees over the 3 day event.

This exhibition will allow us at Graffiti Design to expand into the vast sector. We have already made excellent progress into the field, however this event should be the launch pad required to really propel the Graffiti Design name into the higher echelons of leisure industry signage with major players attending the exhibition.

The Arun Estates Estate Signage Rebrand

Since 2009 Graffiti Design has been enjoying a good relationship with Arun Estates on the majority of their signage rebrand. The south east’s biggest independent estate agency trades under 5 names – Ward & Partners – Cubitt & West – Pittis – Douglas Allen and Rooney & Co, there are over 100 high street stores throughout.

The main focus of the work has been the complete re-brand of the Kent based Ward & Partners. Graffiti worked with Arun Estates on developing a new fascia, interior and display package that could be rolled out throughout the county to all the 43 stores.

The main standard fascia was a plethora of aluminium built-up and flat cut lettering all of which illuminated by our very own LED light trough. Another part of the package was internal wall decorations including maps of the local area, window graphics and more branding.

Graffiti Design has now recently received a large order from the Ward & Partners division for their own LED Property Display Unit, which is currently in production.

The Ward & Partners project has been extremely well received by Arun Estates and Graffiti Design are now working with them again on the Douglas Allen internal re-brand, including wall maps, large scale photos and branding. “The whole process from initial visuals to the finish product was conducted with professionalism and was carried out smoothly and quickly” said Arun Estates Premises Manager – Tony Webster.

New and existing site revamps for Cubitt & West is also in the pipeline and internal window displays for the Isle of Wight based Pittis have been attended to which has resulted in another great success.

Bruce Pestell, project manager for the work said “The project has allowed us to develop new products and services for our clients, and to see it all flourish in practise is really satisfying. All at Arun Estates have been a pleasure to work with and now are one of our most valued clients”.

This is a fine example of how Graffiti Design once again works with the clients from the design stage all the way through to the finished manufactured product, and relishes every minute of it.
